500 kWe Electricity to Grid CHP Anaerobic Digestion Plant with Planning Application Prepared for 60,000 t/a Biomethane to Grid Project

We are pleased to offer for sale an Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plant generating electricity for grid export located in Basildon, Essex. The facility is currently non-operational however has capacity to process up to 12,000 tonnes of manure and crops per annum. The salient details are as follows:

3,573m³ digester tank producing biomethane to power a 499 kWe CHP engine capable of producing approximately 4,150MWh of renewable electricity per annum.
The plant includes a 3,443m³ digestate storage tank, two feedstock clamps measuring (45m x 29m), feedhopper and shed, digestate drier, biogas boiler and on-site substation.
Renewable Heat Incentives (RHI) and Feed-in Tarrif (FiT) accreditations available for transfer with the plant.
The site, extending to 2.2 acres (0.9 hectares), is held on lease expiring in 2038 at a current rent of £15,000 per annum.
Scope to amend the existing AD facility to increase throughput to 60,000 t/a and allow production of biomethane for supply into the national gas grid (planning application prepared). Available gas grid connection capacity of 1,000m³/h continuous at the site boundary.
