We are pleased to offer for sale the assets of a biomass gasification plant located in Newport, Wales. The facility was installed in 2016 using waste MDF and OSB briquettes to produce 280KWe of electricity and 400KW of thermal energy.
The salient details are as follows:
- Installed in 2016 the plant comprises an Ankur Biomass Gasifier Model FBG-400 housed in purpose built steel portal framed and profile sheet clad building with containerised gas engine and external biomass briquette feeder/hopper.
- The plant comprises a downdraft gasifier with ancillary feeder, dry gas cleaning system, dry ash removal conveyor, dry filtering system, skip charger, condensate neutralisation system, gasifier cooling tower, has a peak rated capacity of 360 kgs/hour with up to 280KWe of electricity generation.
- Planning consent was granted in 2015 for the installation, with the plant installed and commissioned in 2016. The plant processed waste MDF and OSB briquettes producing syngas and biochar, with the syngas combusted to generate renewable electricity for use or export. The plant produced c.845,000 m3 of syngas in 2021-22.
- Please note that the plant is not operating currently as repairs are required to the gas engine.
- The Plant is registered with Ofgem for the Renewables Obligation (RO) scheme.
Available Assets Include:
- Ankur Biomass Gasifier Model FBG-400 and all ancillary assets as installed, including dry gas cleaning system, dry ash removal conveyor, dry filtering system, skip charger, condensate neutralisation system, gasifier cooling tower.
- Containerised Gas Engine.
- External Briquette Feeder/Hopper.
- Steel Portal Framed Building also available.
