We are pleased to offer for sale an established high performance gas to grid Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plant located at Plaxton, near Hull. The facility, which commenced operations in 2020, is capable of processing up to 215 tonnes of vegetable waste per day and has an annual gas export capacity of 52 GWh per annum. The salient details are as follows:

  • Plant constructed between 2018 and 2020 with BTS Biogas and Ashcourt as primary contractors.
  • Two 3,845m³ digester tanks producing up to 550 Nm³/hour of biomethane with gas export to grid capacity of 750 Nm³/hour.
  • On-site energy generation (parasitic load): 550kWe electricity and 1.2 MWth of usable heat. 1MW site import capacity.
  • Facility qualifies for index linked Renewable Heat Incentives (RHI) until January 2040.
  • RGGO-certified biomethane: Renewable gas certificates with an off-take agreement of £26 per MWh to August 2026 then £21 per MWh to June 2029.
  • The site, extending to 2.77 acres (1.12 hectares), is held on two coterminous leases expiring in December 2039 at a combined current rent of £109,000 per annum.
  • Planning permission to be submitted to allow for alternative feedstock supply.
  • Income for the year ended September 2024 £1.9M.
