Historic Overton Mill Assets Available For Sale

Since 1922, Portals Paper have been producing paper at Overton Mill in Hampshire, UK. Activity at the mill was amplified following the 1963 closure of the nearby Laverstoke Mill in favour of Overton due to its modernised features. Further change occurred in 1995; with operators Portals Paper being acquired by banknote printers, De La Rue. 2018 saw a resurgence of the Portals Paper brand when De La Rue divested itself of its paper making activities and the name Portals was used for the newly independent business.

Overton Mill has been at the heart of this paper production story. The mill has seen over £50+ million investment within the mill over the last ten years and £25 million over the last four years. It is home to specialist machinery associated with banknote manufacturing.

By the Order of the Owners due to the Orderly Wind Down and Closure of Overton Mill, Hilco Valuation Services Europe offers for sale the principal assets which include support parts and equipment. These are available now for immediate inspection and with the sale expected to take place in the late Autumn 2022.
