Established in 1995 the vineyard has played a pioneering role in the English wine industry producing an award-winning range of sparkling wines. Situated in an attractive rural location on a freehold site of approximately 23 acres, the vineyard benefits from extensive wine production, storage and visitor facilities and serves a wide customer base.

The Opportunity:

The Business:

  • The vineyard was originally planted in 1995, with vines mainly comprising of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
  • Multiple revenue channels including trade sales, on-site restaurant, direct to consumer retail sales, tours and tastings, online sales and wine club and contract wine making.
  • Growth opportunities to elevate hospitality and visitor experience together with operational expansion, with approved planning permission in place to extend the production facility and erect a new vineyard store and workshop.
  • 2024 turnover c.£4.3m, 2023 turnover c.£4.1m and 2022 turnover c.£3.5m.

The Facilities:

  • Winemaking capacity: Floor space 1,439m2, pressing capacity of 64 tons per day, bottling capacity of 26,350 per day and fermentation capacity of 473,072L.
  • Production capacity: Floor space 1,861m2, cellar storage of 837,300 bottles, disgorging capacity of 6,000 bottles per day, labelling capacity of 3,500 bottles per day and riddling capacity of 440,000 bottles a year.

Assets For Sale:

The Freehold Property – the freehold property extending to c.23 acres with a range of outbuildings including winery, bonded storage, hospitality hub, restaurant, and land currently under vine.

Stock – the company has a stockholding of c.825,000 bottles and the equivalent of c.500,000 in tank storage.

Machinery and Equipment – the vineyard and winery machinery and equipment.

Intellectual Property – the established brand name, web domain, copyright in the website, customer database, domain name, social media accounts and wine protocols.

Customer Databases – substantial database of customers.

Employees – skilled workforce of c.50 individuals specialising in viticulture, winery operations, hospitality and marketing.

Goodwill – the valuable goodwill attaching to the business.
